UW Medicine Supply Chain Management's objective is to ensure our patient care experience is enhanced by delivering a robust foundation of services, operational and technical support, and the sharing of comprehensive, relevant, and highly specialized supply chain management expertise.
UW Medicine Supply Chain Management has an outstanding opportunity for a part time 50% FTE weekend night shift SUPPLY CHAIN TECHNICIAN LEAD. This position will be based at UW Medical Center. The Supply Chain Technician Lead (SCT Lead) leads Supply Chain staff and puts away, requisitions, picks, distributes, and delivers general, medical, and surgical supplies and equipment throughout various healthcare settings.
Additional SCT Lead duties:
Perform advanced supply chain duties such as managing rental equipment and regular interaction with and utilization of Supply Chain point-of-use (POU) technology.
Regularly assign, instruct, and check the work of others.
Under general supervision, ensure that established priorities are carried out and deadlines met to support the work of the UW Medicine Supply Chain department.
Other duties as assigned.
High School graduation or equivalent.
Ability to work around critically ill hospitalized patients.
Ability to communicate effectively with clinical staff in stressful acute patient care environment.
Demonstrated proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with demonstrated active listening skills.
Experience in data entry activities with an automated supply system; demonstrated basic computer skills.
Demonstrated ability to work within a team assignment.
Ability to develop positive, beneficial relationships with others and show respect for diversity in the workplace.
Ability to work in a high-volume environment where great emphasis is placed on customer service and creative problem-solving skills in order to achieve group objectives.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance, climbing stairs, kneeling, reaching (overhead/extension), sitting, stooping (bend at waist), and twisting (knees/waist/neck).
Frequently carrying items, crouching, operating a keyboard, pushing/pulling, and hand/eye coordination.
