The Purchasing Manager is a newly created position which will lead in the fundamental development of a contemporary and dynamic central purchasing function for the University. Reporting to the Director of Business Services and under the Treasurer's Office, this position provides leadership and ensures professionalism, ethics and expertise in the Purchasing function for the University. Provides for the daily operation of and facilitates the development of policies and procedures for University Purchasing ensuring that properly specified goods and service are procured at the best price possible in accordance with University Policies and Procedures, and government regulations. This includes supporting the full purchasing cycle from product and service specification to supplier identification to competitive quotation processes and effective contract negotiations, to proper receiving and vendor payments.
Other duties include but are not limited to supporting management of University surplus property, product and service research and analysis and other evaluations of University spend and inventory management.
Minimum 3-5 years enterprise management experience in a University or large complex business enterprise. Strong preference for specific purchasing management experience.
