Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
Multi million dollar contract experience preferred
Assures quality customer service to all customers.
Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates performance of assigned staff. Identifies and effectively resolves personnel issues.
Develops, implements, and administers system-wide purchasing programs, policies, and procedures to include the vendor qualification program.
Evaluates vendor products, supplies, and services. Makes recommendations as appropriate.
Develops and issues requests for proposals (RFPs and RFQs) for supplies, equipment, and services.
Verifies product/equipment specifications in coordination with the appropriate technical subject matter expert.
Develops policies and procedures and oversees the inventory control processes as they relate to supply inventories. Ensures the resolution of product discrepancies, material defects, and return processes.
Chairs the Corporate Contract/Vendor Qualification Team. Negotiates major purchase and capital equipment contracts and provides ongoing contract support.
Serves as the liaison with healthcare group purchasing organizations (GPO). Evaluates and compares GPO contract portfolios and identifies contract opportunities providing the most favorable cost, value, and quality to the organization. Manages the GPO relationship to the extent that GPO resources are fully maximized.
Remains abreast of changes and developments in the industry. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships both inside and outside the organization. Serves on supply chain management/procurement committees within own industry and other affiliated groups.
Develops, recommends, and administers the department budget. Assists in formulating and implementing strategy for short and long-range planning.
Bachelor's degree required. MBA preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of the purchasing/contracting process for supplies, equipment and services required.
Understanding of supply chain logistics in a multi facility organization required.
Professional certification preferred (i.e., CMRP, CPSM).
Ten years of corporate purchasing/supply chain management experience required including:
Five years supervisory experience.
Experience negotiating supply, equipment, and purchased service contracts.
