Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Application Support Manager for University Procurement Services. This position reports to the Director of Procurement Technology. The Application Support Manager manages the staff, services, and applications that provide support to University Procurement Services staff and their clients. This position is responsible for developing programs, services, and business processes that will allow the organization to achieve stated performance goals through applications, data, and end user support. The software platforms supported include all applications related to procure-to-settlement activities conducted within RU Marketplace. In addition, this role will support some activities within the Oracle Cloud application.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Works closely with other leaders in University Procurement Services to understand overall direction and needs and recommends solutions using technology or data that can assist in enhancing the University Community's effectiveness.
Assists or directs procurement related projects, provides project management oversight to the University Procurement Services staff, and coordinates with Office of Information Technology (OIT) project teams formed for various development projects.
Serves an active role in the development of procurement related applications/programs, including: application configuration, testing, cross application coordination, troubleshooting, maintenance and improvement, as well as data conventions and process standardization.
Acts as a liaison between functional operations and OIT as required.
Provides high-level data and reporting to all areas of University Procurement Services on opportunities, potential procure-to-settlement process problems/issues, as well as providing metrics under the direction of the University Procurement Services Director of Information Technology.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Also requires five years of related professional experience in a leadership or managerial role of increasing responsibility.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Also requires skills in planning and organizing, integrating information, making decisions, and attaining results; excellent communication skills; and computer literacy.
Six (6) years of supervisory work experience in information management or information systems, in a hospital, healthcare system or University setting.
Experience with implementation and/or maintenance of ERP or Procurement/Supply Chain systems.
