VUMC Sourcing is a department within the Supply Chain Organization which report to the Chief Supply Chain Officer for the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. This area of coverage is Cardiology, Radiology, Endoscopy
VUMC Sourcingâs mission is to cooperatively develop and execute sourcing strategies with VUMC departments for products and services that meet or exceed the Medical Center requirements, and to perform these services to the highest ethical and professional standards. VUMC Sourcing and VUMC Purchasing jointly work together to:
Provide leadership through contract negotiation, supplier management and efficient transaction processing using modern e-commerce purchasing technologies
Promote small, disadvantaged and minority-owned businesses through the Small Business and Diversity Supplier program
Support the Medical Centerâs commitment to environmental responsibility
Support the Medical Centerâs commitment to outreach to the local business community
Assist departments involved in federal contracts and grants in maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations
Assist departments in maintaining compliance to all Medical Center policies regarding contracting and purchasing
Provide leadership of the Medical Centerâs Medical Economic Outcomes Committee (MEOC) which helps facilitate the introduction of new products, equipment, and technology as well as expense reduction opportunities for the clinical enterprise
Manage the assessment and selection process for all Approved Suppliers
Negotiate terms and conditions for supply contracts, service agreements and capital equipment
Review, award and execute contracts for the purchase of products and services
Review, award and execute equipment and vehicle leases per the delegation of authority
Execute all purchase orders, regardless of format or process
Conduct bids for general use products and services, as well as support department-specific sourcing projects
Manage the ongoing business relationship with key suppliers
Manage all Requests for Proposal (RFP) projects, contract negotiations and key supplier contracts. Sourcing Officers will utilize and manage the MEOC process for the assessment of new products or technology. They work closely with the Purchasing Agents to insure suppliers comply with our policies, procedures and contracts.
Job requires Bachelor's and 5 years of experience or the equivalent
Sourcing/Contracting Experience in healthcare field
