Posting Salary: MIN: $20.74/hr. to MID: $22.60/hr.
Position Summary: Under close supervision of the CE Advisor and other cooperators who are at UC Cooperative Extension in Orange County, the Staff Research Associate I (SRA I) will assist in developing and demonstrating integrated pest management (IPM) programs for all significant pests including invertebrate and vertebrate pests, weeds, and plant diseases. This will include providing field support to invasive pest monitoring and detection programs and assisting in research and pilot projects to implement IPM. It will also include assisting the development of materials such as videos and brochures and posting updates using online media such as blogs and social media. The SRA will utilize GPS data collection equipment to collect data during invasive pest surveys and for record keeping and development of other pest management activities. The SRA I will use GIS software to assist management of survey and project data. The SRA I will assist in the development of recommendations for improvement of IPM systems, assist in determining cultural conditions that can be managed or modified to improve plant health, and assist in developing outreach and training materials.

Possess and maintain a valid California Driver License.

A copy of DMV record will be required as a condition of employment.
Employment is contingent upon successfully clearing the FBI/DOJ background check both from the Department of Justice and the FBI, prior to the first day of UC Employment
