The Director of Enterprise Application Services (EAS) oversees and manages support for Banner and other applications used throughout the university. These support services include installation, configuration, hosting, troubleshooting, technical testing, updates, and integration. The Director of EAS provides technical leadership, planning, and guidance for the implementation or upgrade of applications, and the design and development of new applications or interfaces. The Director focuses on oversight and service to university clients to include second- and third-level support for staff members who are the principal subject-matter experts for enterprise applications.
The Director of EAS reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Information Technology and Deputy Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO). The Director works with the leadership of Information Technology Services (ITS) and directors of campus departments to provide the enterprise applications and technology support required to fulfill the university's mission, and provide applications support for other departments within the division.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
Information Technology Services (ITS) strengthens and supports the University's mission of exemplary teaching and learning, scholarly and creative research, and effective engagement and public service by providing the information technology infrastructure, software, hardware and support to achieve the University's strategic goals. ITS is composed of six departments which work with the university community to provide the information technology support and services required to realize operational excellence, integrate advanced technology and create efficient and effective technology solutions.

-An advanced degree related to the duties and responsibilities of the position. -10+ years of progressive professional technical experience in enterprise applications, systems, and databases, including 5 years with primary responsibility for management of enterprise application environments. -5+ years of experience in a management position leading technical professionals. -Significant technical knowledge of and experience with ERP maintenance and development, specifically Ellucian Banner. -In-depth knowledge of information architecture concepts, knowledge of and experience in web architecture and web applications, expertise with application integration, and leading complex technology projects. -Proven ability to lead, manage, motivate, develop, and evaluate professional IT staff. -Demonstrated ability to analyze, understand, and effectively communicate business requirements and technical design. -Demonstrated ability to use effective problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills to influence management, as well as internal and external partners. -Demonstrated project management experience and excellent analytical and skills. -Demonstrated strong customer service orientation, experience in partnering with other units, and fostering a team spirit within the department. -Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community and with a commitment to outstanding client service.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: -Significant technical knowledge of and experience with ERP maintenance and development, specifically Ellucian Banner. Technical skills should include a strong Oracle background with SQL and PL/SQL experience. -Significant technical knowledge of process design and development, service management, and planning, including experience in developing procedures for the support of new technologies and applications. -Knowledge of software testing and upgrade planning including the ability to coordinate updates in the face of multiple, competing functional requirements. -Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community and with a commitment to outstanding client service. -Knowledge of service management principles including experience in the identification and collection of metric data and implementation of process improvements, service catalogs, and workflow management. -Knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery, and system recovery including the ability to design a first-level responder plan for the user community. -Effective time management skills with demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments, manage conflicting priorities, and meet deadlines. -Experience with project management principles and enterprise-wide project implementation. -Experience in the development of annual plans, and development of project goals and objectives. -Ability to provide effective and appropriate guidance to clients in the assessment and development of technology application systems and solutions. -Knowledge of current trends and developments in information technology. -Skill in effectively organizing resources and establishing priorities.
