Directs and manages the development, implementation, and maintenance of the clinical informatics system from the perspective of the system user. Develops and leads programs to manage and integrate clinical systems so as to improve patient safety, improve work flow and functionality, assure communication of clinical information across the care continuum, and ensure data integrity. Works in conjunction with the CNIO to provide leadership for the Centura Clinical Informatics team. Works with the Informatics team to align care coordination workflows as it relates to the EHR. Keeps current with changes and trends in the informatics and Healthcare IT arena with a strong commitment to lifelong learning. Directly reports to the Centura Health CNIO. Approximately 10% or more of travel required throughout the Centura-wide system as needed to facilitate project implementations.
Bachelor's degree Nursing required
Master's degree in Clinical Informatics or related field required
work experience requirements
Minimum of 8 years of healthcare experience. Thorough understanding of hospital, home health and ambulatory clinical operations and interdepartmental patient work flow. Understanding of theoretical foundations of professional nursing practice, project management, process improvement and change management. Demonstrated experience in informatics planning, development, and process transformation. Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to work well with teams and facilitate teams to consensus. Demonstrated ability to manage complex initiatives from conception to implementation.
Colorado RN license
Certified in project management preferred
ANCC certification required within 9 months of hire
Epic certification or proficiency required within 6 months of hire

Provides support for leverage of clinical information system to allow caregivers more time with patients.
Regularly evaluates the clinical functionality of system across the continuum of care and oversees the process to makes improvements where appropriate.

Demonstrates leadership skills in organizing and aligning the clinical informatics team with the goals of the organization. Works with CNIO for overall planning, development, and implementation of clinical informatics, products and services, particularly to address the clinical needs of patients and to support the practice of clinicians across the continuum of care.
Develop informatics capabilities by mentoring and promoting the role of clinical informatics within evolving elements of the healthcare system
Participates in nursing informatics professional organizations
Participates in appropriate teams focused on community clinical connectivity as needed to interface with hospital clinical systems
Leads Centura informatic research projects in tandem with Nurse Scientists, APNs and other stakeholders to provide actionable data that improves patient outcomes, end user experience and the like
Publishes research or other journal manuscripts that further the profession of nursing informatics, patient experience, patient safety, clinician usability and the like
Provides tangible research data utilizing the EHR as a continuous Learning System that impacts the delivery of care within our healthcare system
