Position: Donations Processor, Mover/Driver Position
Reports To: Operations Manager, Logistics Center
General Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the manager, the employee will be responsible for assisting in pick-up, delivery and placement of furniture and other objects, as assigned. Also, to assist the Logistics Center with the processing of donations as deemed necessary.
Major Areas of Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
Assist with donation pick-ups and deliveries to all WINGS locations, including residential and other destinations as assigned.
Assist with the donation and agency pick up routes.
Learn and conform to a highly regimented process involving various levels of clothing and housewares sorting, using set criteria for selection of excellent merchandise.
Contribute to workflow by performing price tagging in accordance with the WINGS warehouse inventory system
Deliver and unload furniture and donated goods to the WINGS Resale stores,assisting the Resale Staff with the placement of the items, as needed.
Provide excellent service in a professional manner at all times as a representative of the WINGS organization.
As needed, engage in staff duties in the Resale Stores, Logistics Center or Maintenance Department when there is a lag in moving activities or assigned by Supervisor.
Attend meetings as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements (Including, but not limited to): •Prior experience in a delivery role is preferred •Must hold and maintain a valid Illinois driver's license- no special license isrequired •Driving history must be acceptable to our insurance company •Must provide proof of valid insurance. •Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. Some of the lifting is awkward, andsome furniture is heavy. Most heavy furniture is handled by 2 people •Must be able to climb stairs, bend and squat, grasp and lift to pick-up and dropoff items •Must have a clean criminal background check •Good interpersonal communication skills and work positively in a team •Ability to organize tasks for efficiency •Proven ability to work with a diverse volunteer and staff force as a good teamplayer •Excellent people skills showing empathy, tolerance and patience •Ability to adapt to an ever changing environment with mature flexibility •Ability to compose, send and receive E-mails •Vision and hearing acceptable to safely drive the truck •Familiarity with, and uses of, Routing applications, e.g., GPS or MapQuest
Type: Full-time hourly wages with benefits; Involves working on average 40 hours per week, including weekends, some holidays and early evenings, as needed. Any specific number of hours per week is not guaranteed, although it is anticipated that normally 40 hours per week is required.
