The Senior IT Engineer helps ensure proper technology operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes actively troubleshooting, testing, documenting, and resolving issues. Resolution may involve coding, testing, implementing or installing software, interacting with vendors and partners, automation and scripting, or systems administration tasks. Individuals may be required to give in-person, hands-on help to users. Primary Duties Working on a Scrum-based team to address Product Backlog Items (PBIs) related to managing IT systems. Some examples could include:Cloud maintenance and reporting Virtual desktop platform and instance rollout IT Asset tracking System health monitoring Creation of automation in support of work items Collaborating with Development teams as needed to support Dev-Ops initiatives Direct assistance of customers and resolving their issues Troubleshooting of technical issues on AWS EC2, S3, and other AWS infrastructure Work with business team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues Assist in software releases and roll-outs and communication to the end users Develop and execute test plans to check applications, infrastructure and systems technical performance Document the company's existing systems architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives Collaborate with different areas of IT and the business in order to provide solutions for the Bank Provide on-call support of bank applications Other duties as required Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering and/or 5 years of equivalent work experience Certifications in multiple technologies preferred 2+ years experience creating solutions in C# 1+ years experience creating solutions PowerShell Strong experience with current versions of Microsoft Windows Server platform Experience with Microsoft SQL is preferred. Experience with non-Microsoft technologies such as Linux, Apache, and Java is preferred. Experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban Knowledge of cloud computing principles, specifically related to Amazon Web Services Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues Experience with desktop and server operating systems, including MS Windows, Server, and Office products Extensive knowledge of IT troubleshooting principles and techniques Extensive knowledge of network and PC operating systems Familiarity with financial concepts such as banking, mortgages, and capital markets Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors Strong written and oral communication skills Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening and questioning skills Strong documentation skills Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language Highly self-motivated and directed Keen attention to detail Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Exceptional customer service orientation Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
