TheDepartment of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Tennesseeat Chattanooga College of Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering invitesapplications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor positionin Computer Science with Cyber Security specialization beginning August 1, 2018.
Candidateswith background, focus, and expertise in Cybersecurity are of particularinterest. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. by the time of theirappointment (Fall 2018), and have a strong commitment to both research andteaching. Research areas include but not limited to cybersecurity, privacy,network security, IoT security, cloud security, intrusion detection, securityanalytics, wireless security, trustworthy system, combatting insider threat,identity management, malware and botnets, or usable security. The College ofEngineering and Computer Science has BS/MS/PhD degree programs, and a vibrantresearch environment. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offersgraduate and undergraduate concentrations in Cybersecurity. The University ofTennessee at Chattanooga is recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA)and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a Center of Academic Excellence(CAE) in Cyber Defense Education. This effort, along with the presence of theNational Computational Center (SimCenter), partnership with Oak Ridge NationalLaboratory (ORNL), and strong community and industry support, present anopportunity for the successful candidate to contribute to a strongcybersecurity program with regional and national impact. The departmentcurrently has 11 full-time faculty and multi-million active research fundingfrom the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Security Agency (NSA),National Institute of Health (NIH), and Department of Defense (DoD). UTC isalso one of 69 CyberCorps institutions in U.S. in defending American Cyberspacethrough generous undergraduate scholarships for workforce development.
