Solid understanding of the different sources (e.g., friends & Family, crowdsourcing, VC), types (e.g. debt vs. equity) and stages (e.g., seed, bridge, etc.) of funding.
Knowledge of valuation process and key financial / non-financial metrics associated with startups.
Discuss in depth examples of both failed and successful startup attempts.
Discuss in depth funding / valuation process from both the investor and entrepreneur perspectives.
Experience building business plans for / with start-ups and pitching proposals to VC firms.
Adhere to all policies and procedures as referenced in the GPS Instructor Policy Manual.
Depending on the needs of the course, and consistent with the GPS Online Course Standards:
Develop a syllabus following program chair guidance and the syllabus template.
Develop content that aligns with course outcomes and offers the author’s experiences and perspectives on key points.
Deliver the course according to our teaching standards, which include actively facilitating online discussions, providing relevant and timely feedback on student work, reporting grades, and discussing student issues with staff.
Create or refine the course site in the Moodle learning management system.
Strong interpersonal skills when relating to students.
The ability to communicate effectively in writing, including conveying complex information and promoting in-depth engagement on course topics.
The ability to devote adequate time to courses, including responding to students and providing meaningful feedback in a timely manner.
