Clemson University: PSA: Edisto Research and Education Center Post Doctoral Fellow - Integrating Unmanned Systems
Location: Edisto Research and Education Center - Blackville, SC
Edisto Research and Education Center at Clemson University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position for research focus in integrating unmanned systems (both aerial and ground) for crop health monitoring, and sensing and automation for precision agriculture.
The successful candidate will be involved in the following:
Development and testing of the electronic and optical systems to be used for both unmanned systems.
Integrate sensors/systems developed at the Sensor and Automation Lab. to be used for the unmanned systems.
Co-develop code on ROS for both unmanned system
Publish research results in a peer-reviewed journal.
A Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical or other related disciplines. Experience in ROS, Mobile Robots control is desired. Familiarity with US Agricultural crop production is desirable but not required.
Additionally, other desirable qualities include the ability to learn/adapt skills and knowledge in solving "real-world" problems; creative and independent research abilities with team-work spirit, strong oral and written communication skills.
Anticipated Starting Term: Fall 2017/Spring 2018 (Open until filled). The appointment will initially be for 1 year but can be extended for a second year depending on progress and funding.
