Mission-focused, strategic, and process-minded leader with a minimum of 8 years of demonstrated progressive experience, with 5 -7 years in healthcare ambulatory operations. Exceptional capacity for managing and leading people, including an executive management team; a team builder who has experience in scaling up organizations; ability to connect staff and physicians both on an individual level and in large groups; capacity to enforce accountability and develop a performance culture among a diverse group of talented individuals; develop and empower top-notch leaders from the bottom up, lead from the top down. Enjoys working hard and looks for challenges; able to act and react as necessary; is a take charge individual. Results-proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment. A high level of business acumen required. Brief Description of Duties: The COO of Stony Brook Medicine Ambulatory Operations and will report directly to the Associate Dean for Ambulatory Operations. The COO will be responsible for the day-to-day clinical and support operations of all of the Stony Brook Medicine ambulatory practices and, as a member of the Stony Brook Medicine executive leadership team, will participate in creating and cultivating the organization's vision, long term strategic and financial plans. The incumbent will work in close partnership with the hospital leadership, the clinical chairs and other administrative and medical staff leaders to ensure the execution of plans of action to improve operations, work environment, organizational culture and structure and business development in addition to adding value and professional expertise to new programs, market and physician development. The COO will be responsible for the overall direction, management, operations, coordination, performance results and evaluation of SBM ambulatory practices. In this leadership role the responsibilities include working closely with the executive team, senior staff, managers and physicians to: Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization. In conjunction with hospital leadership, Clinical department Chairs and administrators, oversee and direct all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Stony Brook Medicine ambulatory practices, utilizing best practices and continuous process improvement techniques (LEAN) to maximize efficiency of all operating systems throughout the delivery system. Effectively manage the organization's operations ensuring all support systems optimize patient access to services, through the provision of high quality health care and customer service. Develop, monitor and administer revenue generating activities, including clinic volume, clinical programs and business development achieving positive bottom line results. Manage processes to ensure operations are in sync with organization objectives and strategy, including systems analysis, productivity analysis, standardization of and cost control on supply chain management and personnel. Facilitate cross functional teams to promote the advancement of organizational initiatives. Maintain open communication and positive working relationships with physicians to understand the issues and needs of the organization
