This position is responsible for managing expedite loads for TMMI by ensuring on time pickup and delivery of critical freight. Candidates must be able to prioritize shipments in a fast-paced environment based on plant needs while also taking measures to control cost and acting as a single point of contact for TMMI, suppliers and the carrier from the time that the shipment is requested until it is delivered.
-Receiving and entering orders for premium freight expedite transactions/services.
-Responsibility for making selections in accordance with Penske and/or customer guidelines and operational requirements.
-Sourcing capacity via selected mode; Responsible for rate negotiation and carrier selection ensuring customer receives shipment in a timely, cost-effective manner
-Acting as the point of escalation for TSS Coordinators in securing expedite services for freight at-risk (delays; breakdowns, storms, etc.)
-Supporting all emergency counter-measures as required/requested
-Maintaining TMW order system and customer-specific ordering system by ensuring accurate information is input into these systems
-Other projects as assigned by the supervisor
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Sound interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across groups and functions
-Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
-High School diploma or equivalent required
-Associates degree or equivalent experience, preferred
-Previous experience in Transportation/Third Party Logistics discipline, preferred
-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
