Reserve vehicles for Durham Tech faculty and staff as requested on a first come, first serve basis.
Issue Mileage Reimbursement Request forms when vehicles are not available.
Prior to a vehicle assignment, conduct a safety check and service vehicles as needed.
Conduct cleaning of vehicles by a contractor or with Durham Tech equipment as needed.
Complete interior cleaning between vehicle washes as needed.
Request authorization from Motor Fleet Management for vehicle service and repair as needed
Transport vehicles to repair shop for scheduled maintenance or emergency maintenance as needed (i.e. change oil and rotate tire every 5,000 miles).
Ensure that NC State Inspections are performed annually.
As required by Department of Administration, reconcile and submit monthly mileage report to Motor Fleet Management by the tenth of each month.
For auditing purposes, ensure the proper retention of monthly mileage records for each vehicle for a minimum of three years. Maintain records of mileage per vehicle for up to 5 years.
Provide courier services for business offices and satellite campuses.
Review and monitor travel logs; identify issues and report on trends and problem areas; develop, recommend and implement methods of reducing property loss/damage.
Receive and investigate reports of traffic violations, suspicious activity in the vehicles; review, audit and approve all incident reports ensuring accuracy and completeness, routing to appropriate offices or agencies as needed.
Develop master vehicle assignment schedules; ensure adequate coverage and replacements.
Oversee monthly check of mileage logs and vehicle maintenance are completed accurately and thoroughly.
Prepare memoranda, correspondence, reports and other documents; attend meetings and conferences as assigned; may participate on task forces and committees.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Security Supervisor, Director/Chief, Executive Vice President, or President.
The Fleet Services Technician/Courier is responsible for the Durham Technical Community College Management of College motor pool and vehicle reservations and courier services for business offices and satellite campuses.
High School Diploma or GED; a valid North Carolina Driver's License required; Must be at least 21 years of age.
