We are a national distributor of fluid handling solutions, undergoing considerable growth and are looking to bolster our senior team with a Director of Procurement. This person will be an integral part of the organization’s expansion and increase in profitable business and be responsible for managing all of the procurement functions. We are seeking a strong leader and knowledgeable purchasing professional who can bring strategic leadership to a fast-paced company.
The Director of Procurement will take charge of all purchasing responsibility. He or she will oversee all of our supplier contracts and will be leveraging relationships with those suppliers in order to cut costs for the organization and improve the flow of supply. Ultimately, the Director of Procurement sets the Procurement strategy, leading Buyers at all levels and mentoring them on industry best practices. This person will be hiring, training, and terminating employees based on performance.
Develop relationships with business leadership as a trusted advisor for sourcing and supplier management.
Define and implement processes related to supply planning, category management, supplier selection, contract management, vendor-enabled innovation, purchasing and replenishment.
Be accountable for building and maintaining relationships with the supplier community and employing best practices based on sound sourcing methodology.
Define and communicate the business’s approach to Procurement, establishing a framework and set of guidelines for the organization that reflects good practice and leads the organization from a decentralized to a centralized entity.
Conduct market analysis and bring external benchmarks and best practices as well as a broad industry knowledge to set the purchasing strategies while working with business counterparts and consulting with subject matter experts as needed.
Implement mechanisms that monitor and correct performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
At least 10 years of experience in procurement and setting procurement strategy for the organization. A bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business is required or equivalent professional qualification.
