The Product Manager will be part of the Acrylic Dispersions team and will be based in Charlotte, NC and support the overall success of the Dispersions & Resins business in North America.
The Dispersions & Resins business of BASF develops, produces and markets a range of high-quality resins, additives, colorants and polymer dispersions worldwide. These raw materials are used in formulations for coatings and paints, printing and packaging products, construction chemicals, adhesives, fiberbondings, nonwovens, and paper manufacturing. As the Product Manager, you will be responsible for the development and management of the assigned North American product portfolio to meet the financial and strategic objectives of the business.
Formula for Success: You Will...
Define regional product portfolio to serve all industry segments in collaboration with Industry Marketing Managers
Coordinate regional strategy development and implementation for assigned product portfolio in alignment with Strategy Manager, Industry Marketing and supporting functions
Maximize regional profitability of assigned product portfolio, return on assets and development of business case for new assets
Define and manage cost/margin management initiatives
Be responsible for Life cycle management of commercial portfolio and participate in new product launch (ranging from PhaseGate through complexity optimization)
Seek input from Industry Marketing Managers on Market/Competitive Intelligence from Industry Marketing input for assigned product portfolio to derive strategic measures, prepare business cases and investment decisions within assigned asset base
Oversee raw material optimization for assigned product portfolio
Maintain global coordination to support Product Management activities and projects to benefit both regional and global organizations
Define regional pricing guidelines to ensure required maximum profitability
Validate demand planning, forecast and asset balancing for assigned products in alignment with the Sales & Operational Planning process
Coordinate with Supply Chain regarding inventory strategy/targets
Own process around product introduction and changes and communication to various business stakeholders in respect to impact and requirements
Own Allocation management decisions and related communication
Coordinate with Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Care, Quality, EH&S, Procurement, Controlling, and other support functions to drive initiatives.
