The Master Scheduler owns the Sales and Operations Planning process, forecast accuracy, as well as Spacelab’s ERP MPS with accurate and consistent signals to Supply Chain for component part purchases. Collaborates with Commercial Operations, Finance, Product Management, and the Operations Teams in a Lean Environment to identify and implement system and process improvements within the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Enables overall margin improvement through accurate forecast projections’ to meet customer needs and minimize inventory on-hand. The S&OP process will take into consideration sales forecasts, current inventory levels, product and component, lead-times, product life cycles, production capacity, and obsolescence.
Improve and maintain the S&OP process, Master Production Schedule (MPS), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and Production Build Plan based on shipment history, seasonality, historical trends, and sales opportunities.
Prepare and provide a monthly S&OP proposal for approval, as well as the Production Build Plan, and Forecast Accuracy summary. The S&OP will be translated into an MPS and loaded into Spacelabs’ ERP system.
Develop existing forecast and demand programs to improve inventory turns, inventory days on hand, as well as reduce inventory values.
Improve forecasting tools and procedures through application of innovative ideas and leading improvement projects.
Drive, promote, and develop positive communication with all functional members of the S&OP Team.
Provide safety stock adjustment recommendations.
Support New Product Development (NPD) through cooperative scheduling of new-model introductions, coordinate and plan material requirements, review new Bill of Materials (BOM’s) for completeness and accuracy, assures appropriate cut-in dates for build verification as well as production units.
Proactively review component shortages to determine root cause and takes corrective actions as necessary within the S&OP process, the ERP System, and/or part master settings to ensure future materials’ signals are correct.
Act as team lead to review the impact of sales opportunities that are over and above the approved S&OP to determine material availability and production capabilities.
Complete MRP and planning discrepancy root-cause analyses to drive corrective actions as necessary.
Work cooperatively to implement innovative inventory efficiency programs.
Analyze Master Schedule to determine fluctuations in trends and reacts to implement necessary changes.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 8 years Master Scheduling experience.
Medical Device Manufacturing experience or a regulated environment.
APICS certification preferred.
Experience with complex planning, forecasting, and product lifecycle programs.
Experience with Purchasing/Materials tools (S&OP, MPS, MRP, Build Plans, and Inventory analysis). Demonstrated expertise with ERP/MRP systems.
Excellent people, organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills required.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP is desired.
Must be able to complete job responsibilities working with different time zone needs such as attending late night/early morning meetings by phone and/or web to meet business needs.
