Overseeing the Epic Home Care/Phoenix teams, the Clinical Projects Supervisor (Clinical Applications Supervisor 2) provides leadership and direction to diverse teams in an effort to collaboratively provide strategic planning, consultation, IT project management and proactive high-level IT support to Home Care and Transplant departments and units throughout the Heath System. Additionally, the Clinical Projects Supervisor leads the development of project plans, implementation schedules, work plans and resource allocations for multiple, concurrent projects required to achieve departmental objectives and standards of quality consistent with Health Systems goals, industry standards and best practices. The incumbent will also manage the business and technical requirements of assigned Health System projects and initiatives, including evaluation of applicable technologies, costs, resource estimates and support requirements. This position ensures project plans, goals and standards are in alignment with Health System technology strategy, standards and data requirements and works collaboratively with a wide variety of UCDHS departments to identify financial and administrative benchmarks and quality standards.As a member of the IT management team, the Clinical Projects Supervisor works closely with the CIO, Assistant Director of IT and other IT leaders to provide daily management and support for the EMR application and report development in support of Home Care and Transplant Service departments, as well as Heath System wide strategic and operational projects and goals.REQUIRED- Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and / or equivalent combination of experience / training.- Experience and/or education in Epic Home Health/Hospice and/or Epic Transplant, or similar clinical applications/information systems.- Experience supervising a technical team and managing the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with clinical applications.- Strong knowledge of clinical applications operations and software development.- Strong knowledge of human resources practices and policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document staff activities and performance and contribute to decision-making on personnel matters.- Experience working in highly complex organizations, preferably large academic healthcare settings.- Experience with reporting clinical data to executives and government programs.- Experience creating project plans and managing technical projects.- Proficient in office automation software (work processing, spreadsheets, visual presentation such as MS Project, Visio, etc.).PREFERRED- Five to ten years experience with clinical quality improvement initiatives and/or healthcare government/regulatory reporting projects.- Three or more years of experience supervising technical staff. - Understanding of enterprise analytics and dashboard solutions. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS- THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT.- Required to pass Epic certification exam in two attempts within three months of hire date.-Travel in the Northern California region and occasional out of state travel may be required. Reliable transportation is necessary for off-site visits.
