The IAB Technology Laboratory is an independent, global, nonprofit research and development consortium that defines and helps companies implement technical standards for digital advertising. Comprised of publishers, ad technology firms, marketers, agencies, and other interactive marketing companies, the IAB Tech Lab’s standards, software, and services enable brand and media growth globally via a transparent, safe, and effective supply chain; simpler and more consistent measurement; and better advertising experiences for consumers – all with a focus on mobile and “TV” channel enablement. Established in 2014, the IAB Tech Lab is headquartered in New York City, with an office in San Francisco.
As an intern with the IAB you will have exposure to some of the most important issues facing the industry today and the thought leadership initiatives designed to solve for those issues. You will learn how our organization functions and how we manage a large amount data that allows us to serve our members. Our intern program provides weekly learning sessions developed around key topics each department is working on and interns have the opportunity to participate in industry events hosted by the IAB. We expect you to bring a fresh approach and have input on business objectives and strategies.
The position begins June 11th and ends August 17th. Interns are expected to work approximately 40 hours a week and will be paid $13.00 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities (might include, but not limited to):
Task management that supports developing specifications, which may include some technical document editing or writing specifications.
Managing use of case development/testing. Depending on the project or subgroup, the Intern may have some external-facing opportunities.
Requirements and product planning work (including enhancement of master planning sheet etc.):
Support project planning, includes working with timeline spreadsheets across multiple projects or milestones, which might include use of JIRA or GitHub to aide with product planning.
Good writing/editing skills, ideally experienced with technical writing.
Product management course work experience/introductory computer science classes may also satisfy this requirement.
Familiar with Project management terms, techniques and application of such.
Interest in the digital advertising landscape, internet content hosting/serving technology, or advertising consumer experience.
Previous CRM Experience, ideally using Salesforce.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate to clients and some experience in sales or account management.
Experience using Outlook, with emphasis on calendar management.
