We are hiring a field coordinator for this multi-year research project, who will lead on-site activities in El Paso, Texas. The position will be filled for the initial 3 months first, and may be renewed on a yearly basis after the first 3 months. This is a part time position.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience.
Master's degree (no additional experience required)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish.
Ability to establish rapport and work effectively with individuals of different ethnicities, socioeconomic status, gender and sexual orientation.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
Organized and details oriented.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and project management skills.
Computer skills with MS Office, Windows, Adobe, and Internet
Assisting with the recruitment of study subjects by communicating with local research team members, community health workers (promotoras), collaborators, and (potential) participants in El Paso
Preparation of data collection materials, including surveys, global positioning systems (GPS), accelerometers, and travel diaries.
Documentation, supervision, coordination and management of daily data collection activities by local research team members and community health workers
Reporting of weekly activity summaries to the project manager and project directors in College Station
Documentation of all local research processes and actions/decisions made; Communicate with and inform project directors about the process of fieldwork and incidents, if any.
Assurance of adherence to research protocols and human subjects policies and procedures.
Responses to phone or email inquiries from the study participants regarding study procedures/participation.
Home visits to deliver study materials to study participants and to explain study procedures.
Ability to work flexibility and from home in El Paso (the project may not be able to provide an office space)
