Business Analytics is broadly defined as the use and analysis of very large or high frequency data sets for business decision making and the Belk Distinguished Professor in Business Analytics can have research and teaching interests in any functional area of business including, but not limited to, Marketing, Accounting, Consumer Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Operations Management/Supply Chain, or Management, but must also have a demonstrated record of teaching and research in business analytics. The Distinguished Professor creates curriculum, teaches courses in business analytics, maintains a high level of connectivity with Belk, Inc. and other regional business leaders, and serves as a liaison between the College and the business community for programs that address topics on business analytics. The Distinguished Professor is assigned to an appropriate department within the College based upon research and teaching interests. The appointment is intended, however, to serve an interdisciplinary role within the College and to work with a broad constituency on campus and in the community. In addition to teaching both undergraduate and graduate students, the Distinguished Professor is expected to engage in interdisciplinary scholarship, curriculum development, and external relations.
Minimum Experience / Education:
