Job Summary: Manages and develops PHC CV Servcies strategic goals and objectives, through analyzing division/department performance and quality excellence initiatives to enhance overall operational performance. Will regularly analyze division/departmental data and report on PHC CV Services operational metrics related to back office business functions; expenses and efficiencies; revenue cycle enhancement; materials/inventory management; as well as quality and process improvement initiatives to allow clinical practices to flow optimally. Works collaboratively with the Clinical Managers and physicians to develop and implement strategic goals and metrics that promote as well as enhance growth and efficiencies to ensure operational and clinical excellence for PHC CV Services to CV services operational performance. Acts as Director of CV Services in his/her absence.
Serves as a resource to the Service Line Director on strategic issues impacting CV services
Displays knowledge of current and future direction of cardiovascular services , especially as it relates to the application of new technology and innovations
Monitors and reports achievements of strategic and operational goals.
Adaptable to rapidly changing health care environment and knowledgeable of industry trends and competitive advantage.
Strong understanding of interrelationships of departmental delivery systems.
Ability to collaborate across service lines to ensure integrated delivery of services.
Responsible for statistical, budgetary, and analytical review of operations within CV services and provides oversight of the development of operations, financials, and growth initiatives, while meeting patient and provider expectations.
Performs monthly variance reporting and assures variances are addressed and rectified.
Monitors CV scheduling and assesses productivity, and designs improvement plan.
Performs cost benefit analysis on new technology requests
Collaborates with departmental leadership and finance to develop annual operating and capital budgets
Analyze and report on financial performance of the surgery division and identifies and develops cost savings initiatives for the division
Demonstrates innovation in the development and implementation of cost reduction strategies
Educates and mentors department leadership to promote an environment of responsible resource management.
Leads multiple, cross functional and/or cross departmental projects and initiatives to improve and enhance Surgical Services business operations
Advises department leadership and staff in defining and identifying key measures and performance targets
Develops solutions to critical business issues and presents alternatives
Defines and directs complex data analysis
Works directly with medical staff to develop innovative solutions to improve the operations of cardiac cath lab and internventional radiology.
Ensures effective inventory management of cath/IR supplies, implants and resources through collaborative work with staff and leaders.
Monitors inventory performance and directs appropriate mid-course corrections to achieve forecasts
Collaborates with Materials Management to direct activities related to product entry, control, and standardization
Monitors a yearly inventory process and develops/implements cost management plan
Maintains productive and supportive working relationships with independent contractors and vendors to ensure cost effective initiatives are being met
Safety and Quality
Maintain and improve patient safety initiatives through collaborative design and trending of industry standards
Report, analyze and provide recommendations on Patient Safety and Quality Assurance initiatives
Collaborate with Clinical Managers and Team Leaders in conducting root cause analysis (RCA) when safety and quality gaps exist.
Works directly with Director of Surgical Services, Medical Staff and Clinical Mangers to design and implement a vision of growth and operational excellence for the future of the service line
Participate with business development activities, including new service line programs and services or expansion of existing services
Assist in planning for new service line procurements; collects data through internal and external sources; facilitates competitive analysis and projects volumes and fiscal impact.
Works with Business Development and Finance team on target product line initiatives
Bachelor's Degree is required; Master's Degree is preferred
Experience and understanding of finance, operations, supply chain or budget management in a clinical Previous setting
Previous experience with quality, risk management and process improvement
