The Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota is seeking a new Director for the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation with an established record of success in research along with excellence in clinical and administrative leadership spheres. The Division Director will be expected to lead and promote academic hematology and oncology basic and translational research initiatives, clinical excellence and quality education. The Director will encourage and foster collaboration with investigators and faculty in all of the schools of the Academic Health Center, the faculty of the National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Masonic Cancer Center and the University of Minnesota Physicians/ MHealth Oncology Service Line, the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program and the Hemophilia Center. The Director will extend the longstanding reputation and success of the University of Minnesota Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation Division—efforts which will be reflected in academic productivity, scientific advancement as well as expanded clinical practice and training in the Division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Direction of the HOT Division, including faculty hiring, mentoring, and advancement; oversight of clinical, research, and teaching activities; management of space and budget; and overall determination of the academic direction of the Division;
Continuance and further development in his/her own externally funded research program;
Guidance and promotion of new initiatives in clinical program advancement in all areas related to the disciplines of Hematology, Oncology and Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Encouragement of active Division faculty participation in clinical and research education of students, residents, and fellows, including oversight of curriculum development, management, financial support, and accreditation of training programs.
Participation in departmental conferences and committees;.
Qualifications: Applicants must have the ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.

Demonstrated excellence in patient care
Demonstrated enthusiasm for medical education and strong teaching skills
Must have or be able to attain a medical license in the state of MN
Must be able to pass credentialing at all applicable sites
