Full Time 40 hours Grade 007 Materials Management Svcs SMH Responsibilities General Purpose With minimal direction and considerable latitude for independent judgment, performs routine and non-routine duties for supply chain management of SMH/GHS operating room supplies and implants. The position works as a team member under the Periop Supply Chain Supervisor in coordination with OR Nursing and Periop Supply Chain management. Assists in the coordination of the daily supply chain operations for the Operating Rooms and insures inventory management procedures are maintained in accordance with best practice standards and hospital policies. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Specific Responsibilities: Create and maintain computerized inventory sheets, monitor stock levels and create electronic requisitions to maintain appropriate inventory levels.Receive in product, check for accurate shipping, enter receipt information into the materials management software (PMM). Report any discrepancies to supervisor.Deliver to appropriate inventory location/cart and stock according to best practices.Establish and maintain optimal communication standards Maintain inventory levels for assigned inventory locations per hospital policy and inventory management/ supplychain best practices.Maintain inventory par forms and other inventory management tools in University materials management software for accurate bin locations, par levels, etc.Review and update par forms at least monthly.Daily review and maintain assigned inventory locations, ensuring stock is rotated and checking expiration dates. When required, obtain product from the SMH OR MPD, Anesthesia stock room or Cath Lab, according to best practices.Check on backorders; assist with determining and maintaining the appropriate inventory levels to ensure sufficient product availability.Keep all areas of responsibility neatly maintained. Team player on the Periop Supply Chain and SMH Materials Management teams.Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager to maintain optimal customer service levels to nursing, surgeons and anesthesiologists in the Golisanoâ™s Childrenâ™s Hospital. Under the direction of the supervisor, assist in the semi-annual physical product inventory for Periop as required by SMH Finance to meet cost accounting and regulatory requirements. Requirements: One year post-high school education (two years post high school education preferred), 1-2 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in computer applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Medical terminology is preferred.
