The School of Visual & Built Environments (SVBE) is accepting applications for a Part-Time Lecturer in the Apparel, Textiles & Merchandising (ATM) Program.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching responsibilities include writing syllabi, preparing for and delivering classroom instruction; maintaining and improving competence in subjects being taught; preparing course materials; conferring with students on course materials; grading course work; written examinations and project assignments; evaluating presentations/displays/portfolio, and submitting final grades in a timely manner.
The position requires a minimum of a Master's degree in the area of textiles, apparel and merchandising or closely related area. Applicants should have teaching experience in apparel, textiles, and merchandising or a related field.
The potential candidate should have knowledge in at least one of the following areas:
fashion design, fit, and technical sewing specifications;
textiles and textile application related to garment construction and design;
technical fashion design and product development;
sewing assembly methods, pattern making skills, and knowledge of industrial sewing equipment;
supply chain management;
teaching and evaluating undergraduate and graduate students; and,
Preference will be given for the candidate with knowledge in more than one area and has industrial experience
