What You Will Do:
The Principal Chemist will demonstrate full use and application of chemistry, project management, and other principles, theories and concepts to assignments where precedents may exist plus working knowledge of other related disciplines. Carry out state-of-the art research toward the development of new materials for drilling, completions, and well stimulation. Work closely with other development scientists, marketers, and external salesmen towards project goals and follow up through product scale-up, manufacturing, and field evaluation. Develop solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity. The role requires the ability to apply a fundamental understanding of chemistry to industrial processes to deliver unique and innovative solutions to customer challenges. In addition, the Principal Chemist must flourish as part of a multidisciplinary team and be comfortable with the prospect of customer-facing meetings and presentations.
Position Details: This position is based in Sugar Land, TX.
Understand and adhere to all policies, procedures, and guidelines pertaining to safety, health, and environmental matters, emphasizing this perspective in their own work and in the work of others
Prepare and present technical recommendations and project results to a wide range of internal and external audiences
Interface closely, as a key technical contributor, with our Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams as needed for both technical support and innovation projects
Work both autonomously and in a team environment on pre-defined areas of innovation

Degree or Advanced degree in a chemistry or related discipline. BS and 5+ years, MS and 3+ years or PhD and less than 2 years industry related experience
Proven project management and organizational skills
Proficiency with common commercial software such as MS Office Suite
Ability to travel up to 10%

Advanced Degree preferred in Organic Synthetic, Polymer or Material Science
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Record of publications and/or patents
Oil & Gas industry experience
