The Director of GPS Recruitment and Admission provides leadership of Admission teams to attract, recruit, and enroll both Graduate and Adult Degree Completion students in the university by directing implementation of admissions strategies, promoting the university, and directing staff to attain short and long-range enrollment goals in the Graduate and Professional Studies programs. The Director reports to and work closely with the Sr. Director of Enrollment Management to ensure enrollment goals are met, high quality recruitment strategy is implemented, regular promotion of the university within the community exists, and well trained staff with regular opportunities for professional development.
Lead and supervise ADC Admissions Counselors located at community colleges, scheduling regular visits to the campuses for review and support, as well as scheduling regular staff meetings and providing one on one guidance, training and leadership as needed .
Lead and supervise Graduate Enrollment Counselors working from PLNU’s Mission Valley campus, scheduling regular staff meetings as well as providing one on one guidance, training and leadership as needed.
Responsible to ensure full Implementation with both teams of counselors of annually-based, comprehensive recruitment and admissions plans created in partnership with AVP of Graduate and Professional Services, Sr. Director of Enrollment Management, Director of Communication and Events and Director of Marketing .
Serve as main contact and liaison between community college partners and PLNU staff and faculty for all classroom and related logistics.
Serve as main contact for all Graduate and ADC program directors on matters of admissions processes.
Develop and provide regular training for all Enrollment and Admissions Counselors in best practices for recruitment and admissions.
Attend all marketing alignment meetings along with Admission Counselors to provide insight on student experience and community partnership issues.
Monitor and execute operational strategies by evaluating production, productivity, quality, and customer-service carried out by enrollment and admission teams.
Work with teams to evaluate current practices as well as work to implement new practices to continually improve conversion rates from prospect to matriculation.
Work closely with Enrollment Support Manager to ensure smooth work flow between enrollment support team and admission counselors.
Proactively monitor, assess and communicate admissions performance statistics, semester forecast, and enrollment status on a regular basis with solutions to overcome any projected shortfalls to the Senior Director of Enrollment Management
Implement and oversee recruitment activities at events such as career fairs, PLNU information sessions, conferences, and other such recruiting opportunities.
Have full knowledge of all programs and the ability to step in as needed to meet with students, work within the CRM, and provide assistance at all events; ability to step in as an admissions counselor if needed.
Promote the university and attract new students by maintaining working relationships with other graduate and professional studies departments to leverage inter-departmental relations and to ensure timely and efficient process for admitting students.
Maintain continuing flow of quality applicants and transfers to the university by analyzing trends in enrollment and marketing activities.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Other related responsibilities as assigned.
Understanding of and commitment to the spiritual mission of the university.
Bachelor degree required: degree in education or marketing related field preferred.
Five years related higher education, enrollment and/or marketing experience or similar sales experience is preferred.
Minimum two years demonstrated leadership and management of teams where it was required to regularly guide, train, develop, delegate, support, and motivate staff to achieve maximum performance.
Must be highly motivated with a high level of enthusiasm for marketing new and expanding academic programs.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including public speaking skills.
Must possess strong detail and time management skills. Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks under deadline stresses.
Strong computer skills to support the marketing and admissions process.
Ability to exercise interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with prospective students, external contacts, faculty and staff across all levels of the institution.
Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends, if needed, and have reliable transportation to work from remote locations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Vision to read documents, email and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor. Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone. Will also stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 10 lbs throughout the day.
