About the Department Global Initiatives at Ross works to sustain and grow the school's international engagement at all levels to better meet the mission to develop leaders who make a positive difference in the world. The Global Initiatives team is led by the Executive Director of the Office of Strategy and Academic Innovation and the Managing Director of Global Initiatives. Global Initiatives includes India Initiatives and China Initiatives, dedicated to building the school’s presence in these markets; as well as the Global Initiatives Student Experience team, who manage the education abroad opportunities for Ross.
Purpose This position manages marketing and communications for the Office of Global Initiatives, leads the unit’s effort around technology solutions, and manages reporting on international activities.
Marketing & Communications
In conjunction with the Managing Director and the Director of Global Student Experience, develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns to inform faculty, students, and the wider U-M community about Global Student Experience opportunities.
Create presentations, high-quality print materials, digital brochures/posters.
Conduct informational meetings with education abroad influencers (academic advisors, faculty, etc.) across campus as needed.
Oversee and maintain the layout, overall appearance, and content development of the Global Student Experiences website as well as the China and India Initiatives websites.
Coordinate select Ross and UM community engagement events, such as the Ross Global Opportunities Fair.
Manage social media presence, increase engagement, and develop regular creative content for Global Initiatives social media sites.
Collaborate with the Ross Marketing and Communications team.

Technology & Data Management
Drive the organization and implementation of a CRM system for Global Initiatives.
Oversee content on M-Compass, the University’s study abroad application data system, including working with the Global Student Experience team to update program information on brochures; serve as project manager and lead editor for all Global Initiatives M-Compass program brochures.
Manage all features of M-Compass administration and be the resident M-Compass expert.
Reevaluate and innovate M-Compass application questionnaires, instructions, materials, and processes on a yearly basis.
Run student data queries, report, and analyze data on a weekly basis.
Assist other M-Compass users within the department; establish and update the Global Initiatives Instructional Handbook for current and future users
Coordinate application processes, including downloading and formatting student applicant data from M-Compass and the M-Pathways student information database; develop and implement process improvement strategies.
Create high-quality presentation materials and reports for various audiences about Global Initiatives.
Compose an annual Global Initiatives report for the Ross/U-M community and other reports as needed.
Track and communicate data on international activities and maintain accurate records and archives.
As needed, serve as a program lead on international programs.
Associate’s degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Superior interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
Must be able to communicate effectively, especially in writing.
High-level editorial and writing skills.
Professional demeanor and customer-service oriented manner.
Ability to creatively use technology to achieve objectives.
Proven ability to create effective marketing materials and proficiency using social media.
Proficiency and knowledge of Google tools, Canvas, and M+Box.
High level of proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), website applications.
Graphic design skills (InDesign, Photoshop).
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new computer software and technologies is necessary.
Experience in creating, maintaining and updating websites.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
