Harvard Business School (HBS), seeks a seasoned and creative technology executive as its Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Reporting to the Executive Dean for Administration, and as a member of the HBS administrative leadership group, the CIO works in close collaboration with the academic and administrative leaders of the School, the University, and the broader HBS community to define and implement an IT strategy that advances its mission and goals. The CIO heads Information Technology (HBS IT), a 169 FTE central organization, and oversees a $49 million operating budget.

The Chief Information Officer plays a critical leadership role in helping to realize the mission and aspirations of the School and in supporting its many constituencies. The CIO serves as ambassador for HBS IT, communicating its vision and value to the HBS community, the wider Harvard University population, and beyond. The HBS CIO plays a leadership role in a range of IT governance bodies within HBS and the University while managing the following departments:
IDEAS – Information Security, Data Engineering, Enterprise Systems, and Applications Development Services (Chief Technology Officer/Managing Director-Information Security, Data Engineering, Enterprise Systems, and Application Development Services)
ITSS – IT Support Services (Managing Director, Information Technology Support Services);
Office of the CIO – IT Business Operations (Director, IT Business Operations) and Communications (Associate Director, Communications);
PPMO-QA – Portfolio and Project Management Office and Quality Assurance (Managing Director, Portfolio and Project Management Office and Quality Assurance);
SMTS – Service Management and Technology Services (Managing Director of Service Management and Technology Services).
