Roberts Oxygen a leading distributor of industrial, medical, and specialty gases and related equipment has the position for you. We are actively seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Manager for our Rockville, MD location.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in providing excellent customer service by contributing to the timely and cost efficient procurement and replenishment of stock and no-stock resale inventory items. Responsibilities and requirements may include but are not limited to:
Participation in the selection and de-selection of vendors.
Timely and cost efficient resale inventory purchasing and inter-branch transfers.
Negotiating vendor pricing and managing vendor invoicing system challenges.
Managing large buy and vendor rebate opportunities.
Management of company-wide accuracy of system quantity on hand values for resale inventory items when compared with a physical count of the same items by:
Ensuring accurate and timely resale inventory item file creation and maintenance.
Managing an appropriate cycle counting program.
Managing an annual physical count of all resale inventory.
Meeting Company customer service and inventory efficiency goals by ensuring expedited placement of orders for non-stock items, and responsiveness to sales inquiries.
Manages compliance with all regulatory requirements affecting inventory items (including manufacturer’s product Safety Data Sheets).
Stays aware of current products, services, and industry trends.
Lead, manage and develop all direct reports.
Develops strong internal working relations creating partnerships to resolve conflicts.
Sets and fosters the expectation of providing excellent customer service from all employees.
Represents the company positively and is a role model for the company culture and values.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3-5 years of industry purchasing of resale inventory experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Solid computer skills and usage of Microsoft Office Products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent driving record and if selected, ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
