This is an exciting opportunity for a transformative information technology executive to provide strategic thought-leadership and vision in positioning MSM as a leader in health technology innovation. The CIO will take a proactive stance in leading the IT organization in support of the school‘s teaching, research, clinical, and service missions. The CIO will champion best-in-class and next-in-class IT service in order to enhance the effectiveness of the academic, clinical, and business units across the institution in meeting MSM’s strategic objectives. With an eye toward the future, this visionary leader will build the necessary infrastructure and human capital to support a number of key strategic initiatives aimed at educating the next generation of healthcare providers and advancing health equity.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Operations & Chief Financial Officer, the CIO will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a fully-integrated information technology strategy for the school, with administrative and fiscal oversight for all aspects of the information technology function, including academic technology, enterprise applications, infrastructure management, technology innovation, audio visual, telecommunications, and information security and data privacy. The CIO will recognize the importance of data across of the school’s verticals—education, research, health care delivery, and community service—and the implications they create as related to storage and security. The CIO will lead IT programs that encourage innovation while mitigating risk and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
The new Chief Information Officer must be a dynamic and visionary leader, with the expertise to create forward-thinking and cost-effective IT programming for diverse stakeholders in a complex network infrastructure that continues to embark upon fundamental changes to better fulfill its mission. The CIO will be a thought-leader and strategist who understands data science and how data can be utilized to enhance evidence-based decision making. This leader will have a track record of innovation in IT programs and services, in customer service, and in operations, coupled with a commitment to best practices. In addition, the CIO must be well versed in cybersecurity in order to develop effective policies and procedures, and prevent potential breaches.
