The director of enterprise architecture is responsible for the development, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the enterprise architecture within the Information Technology (IT) department. The director will develop and ensure the business architecture represents our digital healthcare system and aligns our IT assets to deliver the value to our patients, customers, physicians, clinicians, business and overall IT users.
Understands the healthcare business model to align our technology architecture to drive our organization to a desired future state IT. Participates in creating strategies and policies to meet overall business goals. Oversees implementation of enterprise architecture structure and advises adjustments to top management. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the enterprise architecture team and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture (especially business architecture) its techniques, methods, and disciplines, as well as a solid knowledge of the overall operations of an enterprise IT department is required. Responsible to synchronize enterprise architecture planning and support with department leadership as well as leaders of the infrastructure and application teams. Must be able to build relationships with peers and senior leaders throughout the organization.
Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related, required.
Master's Degree, desired.
Minimum Experience Requirements
Minimum 15 years' experience in development, implementation and maintenance of large scale software and hardware platforms, required
Minimum 5 years' experience at program and project management level.
Experience should include demonstrated leadership role in identifying relevant technology trends and aligning an organization's research agenda to those trends.
Demonstrated competency in the execution of large scale projects.
Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication.
Proven record of using EA to resolve business problems.
Prior C-level or Director level business background and experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to effectively produce business results, while working under time pressures.
Strategy & Planning
Support the CIO in defining a strategic vision to enable Enterprise-wide IT systems to drive to a digital utility and leverage information to improve healthcare and business outcomes. Responsible for translating the strategic vision into an aggressive, but cost-effective IT implementation plan for Centura Health.
Articulate new technical areas and strategies for IT focus and help build the core competencies required to lead Centura Health in these areas (e.g., integrated data applications and leveraged hardware architecture models).
Responsible for strategic and operational direction of Centura Health's enterprise architecture team, which includes the business architect, information architect, integration architect and infrastructure architect groups.
Responsible for the oversight and direction of the enterprise IT model, which drives reliability and cost efficiency. Drive the effort to establish and utilize total lifecycle cost analysis and establishing IT as a key component for driving value throughout the organization.
Ensure that all programs are managed within the company's delivery framework and utilize company data governance program management methodologies and tools. Create and maintain architectural guiding principles, standards and overall architecture governance to align technology decision making consistent with the principles and standards.
Actively participate in discussions with key partners, both internal and external to Centura Health, in the creation of value through unique IT partnerships and initiatives. This thought process will be focused around the creation of value through IT's investments with key strategic business partners.
Ensure that the quality, security, stability and agility of the EA meet evolving business needs by coordinating with other stakeholders.
Articulate new technical areas for Centura Health IT focus and help build the core competencies required to lead the organization into these areas (e.g., integrated data applications, leveraged infrastructure application, etc). *
Develop the department operating and capital budgets; perform scheduled budget variance analysis; initiate appropriate corrective action when needed to control costs.
Works on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge across multiple specialized architecture domains.
Establish the uniform and consistent identifiers, formats and protocols necessary for sharing and exchanging enterprise information (including structured and unstructured sources.
Provide performance feedback and complete performance evaluations for Team-members. Informal performance feedback should be provided on a frequent basis, and should include feedback from fellow Team members. Feedback should be focused on recognition for achievement, and opportunities for growth.
