TheManager of Supply Chain Inventory/Distribution leads and creates the supply chain goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within Inventory and Distribution. Manages all activities for continuous improvement, cross training and performance enhancement within the supply chain. Employs Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish business objectives. Manages the planning and coordination of all Inventory & Distribution activities of the multi-shift hospital storeroom. Plans, organizes, directs and controls inventory levels, stock replenishment, order filling, and delivery scheduling to achieve financial, inventory control, service level, and employee satisfaction objectives. Supervises Logistics Supervisor, Lead, and line positions within receiving, distribution, Kanban, mail room and courier service areas of the Supply Chain department.
4 year college degree in business, engineering or healthcare related field required or 7 years equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years supervisory experience required.
5 years of supply chain management (healthcare preferred).
Successful history of employee management required.
Demonstrated skill with data analysis and project management required.
Demonstrated success with delivering customer service required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Purchasing and purchase order management concepts.
Thorough knowledge of supply chain management, to include:
Receiving and shipping.
Inbound and Outbound freight and shipping principles.
Supply distribution- Bulk & LUM (Low Unit of Measure).
Hands-on experience in deploying, maintaining and improving the Kanban system.
Strong influencing and communication skills; capable of securing management buy-in, sponsorship and investment through strong articulation of business benefits aligned to broader organizational objectives.
Expertise in Lean methodologies, tools, and processes; understanding of all types of continuous improvement approaches.
Self-motivated, resourceful and entrepreneurial, demonstrating willingness for learning and improvement.
Recent experience in use of Materials Management Information System (Lawson experience preferred).
Understanding of hospital
Knowledge of Group Purchasing organizations relationships and contract processes.
Ability to communicate effectively with clinical staff, medical staff and business managers and department directors.
Ability to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Proven track record in planning, organizing and completing work projects with quality and
efficiency is required.
Highly developed people skills are essential.
Experienced in vendor management and communication, as it relates to receiving and storeroom functions.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications; Excel, Access, Word, Project and PowerPoint at
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Certified Resource and Material Professional (CMRP) preferred.
