The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson, Mississippi is seeking candidates for an Admin Dir-Sup Chain Logistic to support its missions of academics, healthcare, and research. Please see the position description and requirements below.
The Admin Dir-Sup Chain Logistic will plan, coordinate, and direct logistical activities involved in the evaluation, acquisition, receiving, storage, distribution, and accounting of select medical, surgical, and other supplies and equipment utilized by UMMC in the care and treatment of patients.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospital administration, or related field and five (5) years of related work experience; experience may be substituted for educational requirement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of supply chain management
Knowledge of medical equipment, instruments, and supplies
Knowledge of logistics methodologies to include bulk warehousing, low unit of measure and pick and pack
Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and concepts
Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications to include ERP inventory management and point of use systems
Verbal and written communication skills
Ability to develop budgets and monitor expenditures
Ability to train, motivate, and supervise employees
