Under the direction of the Heart & Vascular Center Business Manager, the Materials Management Supervisor is responsible for daily supply chain functions, fiscal management, equipment tracking, vendor relations and general administrative support for all Heart & Vascular Center cost centers. The incumbent will assist in the development and implementation of cost reduction strategies to meet the Heart & Vascular Center and UCDHS fiscal targets. This position will work with physicians, nurses and technical staff as well as establish and maintain positive vendor relations. The Materials Management Supervisor also develops reports, shares information and facilitates data-based decision making to satisfy both clinical and cost containment/reduction strategies. This position supports 11 cost centers although primarily focuses on the invasive cardiovascular service lines throughout the Cath, EP and hybrid OR suites.REQUIRED - Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.- Minimum of 3 years experience in a health care setting. - Skills and knowledge in supply chain management.- Experience with fiscal management.- Strong project management skills (able to contribute to the RFP, RFI and implementation processes).- Knowledge of accounting and statistics demonstrated through prior experience or education.- Ability to analyze diverse information, both qualitative and quantitative in nature and prepare analytical reports.- Knowledge of information systems and the ability to apply them to the health care environment (i.e., Microsoft Office, EMR, EPSI, Axiom, Kauli, DaFis, Eclipsys, Centricity, Apollo, MacLab, Action-OI and Vizient).- Basic medical terminology to determine assets and supplies.- Skills and knowledge of management/leadership principles and practices.- Working knowledge of performance improvement programs and audit implementationPREFERRED-3+ years material management experience- Supply chain management experience.- Cardiovascular experience.- Experience in managing others.- Clinical Information Systems experience.- Knowledge of TJC and Title 22.- Knowledge of Radiation Safety Practices.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT.
