Your ability to transform and then drive new methods into existing business processes will help you excel in this role. As Construction Innovation Leader your involvement will be on the project life cycle with specific focus on the up front planning of project. You will develop an Innovation Program to partner with different groups to reduce cost and increase productivity by focusing on many different areas such Design Plan of Record, Constructability, Leveraging Suppliers, Processes and Systems, Value Engineering, etc.
A complete innovation program will include collecting ideas, developing them and tracking them to completion of concept, gaining approval to implement, intercepting projects, and tracking true / actual benefits and savings.
You will lead a team of inter-discipline engineers, as well as construction and procurement partners that are scanning the horizon and developing strategies to reduce variation in the execution of our next projects.
Getting your strategies to take root will involve collaborating with external contractors including design engineers, construction management firms, schedule and sequencing experts, contract managers and finance analysts to come up with approaches that are optimized across the supply chain.
You'll also need to understand potential implications on Intel's superior manufacturing methods. To do this you'll partner with Intel's technology development teams, facility operations managers and project execution teams.

We need someone that believes in rapid prototyping and the valuable learnings that come from an iterative improvement mindset.
We are looking for people with a proven track record of strong communication and influencing skills to thrive in our highly matrixed environment. The ability to negotiate and influence a variety of personalities, cultures and customer groups with a major emphasis on senior management is important as will be your ability to distill complex concepts into presentations that excite. Additionally the ability to develop a strong business acumen, understanding of factory and site operations, and technology development cycles and challenges is a must.
BS + 6 yrs. exp.; MS + 4 yrs. exp.; or PhD + 2 yrs. exp. in Architecture or Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Professional engineering registration a plus.
6+ years of experience in construction or project engineering or similar.
2 years design or project management experience.
Experience managing design and sizing methods for mechanical, process or electrical industrial facilities is required.
An understanding of utility modeling software and applications, and generation of utility models is preferred.
Reading and interpreting construction contract documents including 3D/BIM.
Disciplined approach to problem-solving methodologies, research strategies, logical reasoning, critical analysis of information and cooperative learning.
Effective at presenting complex recommendations in an effective way to crisply and concisely outline the value proposition and the business need that is being addressed.

Lean Construction or Six-Sigma Certified.
Experience with applying production flow concepts outside the typical manufacturing processes.
Experience working across functional and organizational boundaries.
Specific knowledge of semi-conductor industry or other clean environment industries ex. pharmaceutical, solar is considered a plus.
