The IT Infrastructure Operations team provides Mainframe, Data Center, Service Operations, Customer Engagement, Computing Infrastructure, Enterprise Network and Data Management for ITS and the campus community. The group consists of several teams and leaders. Customer Service Team promotes a customer-focused culture that is prompt, responsive and delivers on ITS commitments. Work with all clients, both internal and external, to foster a best in class model to improve products and services through partnerships. Nurture relationships with faculty, staff and students by considering their needs first and providing outstanding services.
Under general supervision from the ITS Customer Service Supervisor, the Administrative Officer interacts daily with UCSD campus customers, staff, and faculty, to provide excellent customer service support via phone, email, and/or in person. Maintain a professional, respectful, and friendly manner, as noted and expected in the UC San Diego Principals of Community.
Answer service questions; suggest information about products and services provided by ITS, to the UCSD campus community. Assist and provide guidance to customers with placement of Customer Service Request (CSR), work orders as needed.
Responsible for accurate data entry into the Tele-management system (TMS) when processing CSR's, and updating TMS records. Responsible for maintaining, scheduling, closing, and billing CSR work orders in Telecom queue daily, and in a timely manner. Responsible for staging phone instruments in advance, or as required, for the Installation and Repair technicians to collect.
Must be able to organize and prioritize daily workload, as well as meet deadlines for additional tasks, or projects assigned by supervisor.
Uses professional concepts to apply organization policies and procedures to oversee a variety of ongoing administrative operational issues. Administers defined operational program. Analyzes and resolves operational problems of moderate scope.
Provide training over the phone and in person as needed to customers for voice services, and products provided and supported by ITS Telecommunications.
