DIRECTOR OF PHARMACY, MIT Medical, to direct, manage, and oversee day-to-day Pharmacy Service operations. Responsibilities include developing strategic plans and converting into operations, optimizing medication management including the advancement of information technology, focusing on substantial quality outcomes, and supply chain management to maximize expense control. Will direct and oversee financial management, including reviewing and recommending drug utilization for the health plan and clinic areas and department forecasting and budgeting; oversee/manage pharmacy staff; ensure all legal and accreditation/certification requirements are met; and oversee safe and effective pharmaceutical use by the department.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: B.S. in pharmacy and postgraduate degree in pharmacy, business, or health management; at least eight years' administrative and supervisory experience in an ambulatory pharmacy setting; active license as a registered pharmacist in Massachusetts (or eligible to obtain); experience leading evidence-based clinical decision-making about drug use, controlling pharmaceutical expenses while maximizing patient benefit through the formulary system; in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical supply chain, clinical therapeutics, provider prescribing habits, medication management systems, medication-use policy, and the technology used to deliver and support patient care and how this affects the organization's overall success; well-versed in the relationships between third-party requirements, coding, documentation, billing equations, pricing updates, and organizational resources; experience in quality assurance for all functions, resulting in improved financial performance; experience managing clinical and financial implications of specialty pharmaceutical products; ability to work collaboratively, set expectations, and help create a vision; strong working knowledge of department improvement assessment and tools; excellent organizational skills; ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines; and leadership and conflict resolution skills.
