Augusta University, a public research university and medical center dedicated to training the next generation of innovators, leaders and health care providers, is in an exciting time of IT transformation! We are seeking an inaugural Associate CIO responsible for developing application strategy to support the university’s diverse mission fronts and take senior IT leadership for a variety of large applications projects, including moving PeopleSoft ERP to a remote hosted shared service, major identity management overhaul, and major Banner student information system upgrade. The ACIO will have leadership responsibility for enterprise business applications, student information systems, business intelligence and data warehouse, and research applications. She/he will be responsible for building and leading a world-class applications teamresponsible for configuring, maintaining, enhancing, and eventually decommissioning applications throughout the application life cycle. Reporting directly to the CIO, this key leader will provide leadership, vision and direction overseeing activities that meet our business needs while optimizing value and reducing risk. He/she will work collaboratively with the senior IT leadership team to establish and execute a business-driven technology strategy and roadmap that delivers results, promotes efficiency and reduces total cost of ownership for IT applications and services.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in IT or related field with a minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in IT, to include at least three years of experience leading a multifaceted IT unit. She/he is a seasoned leader with knowledge of best practices in managing large and diverse enterprise IT environments as well as the ability to lead and support change in a complex and evolving university with an integrated academic medical center.
