Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Director-Finance.
In this role, the successful candidate assists with directing all financial reporting and budgeting of the Perlmutter Cancer Center (PCC), including all regional PCC locations within the health system, in order to provide PCC, Hospital, and Health System senior leadership with accurate financial and operational information in order for the Hospital to manage their strategic objectives and support their decision making across all PCC locations.
Oversees all processes and procedures relating to financial reporting operations of the Cancer Center, including but not limited to budgetary analyses, month end/year end close, financial data/volume data analysis & financial forecasting.
Oversees the preparations of detailed information for cancer center managers, administration, and senior leadership on a weekly, biweekly, and monthly basis through various reporting mechanisms.
Oversees the analysis and interpretation of monthly financial results (actual vs. budget analysis), identifying trends as well as opportunities and risks. Works with managers to ensure that costs are accurately charged to appropriate areas so that information is properly reflected in monthly financial and responsibility statements.
Ensures revenue and A/R are accurately stated in financial reports. Collaborates with management in revenue cycle operations on revenue cycle metrics and initiatives.
Oversees financial modeling and analysis in support of NYLMC Medication Pricing Committee initiatives. Provides recommendations to the Committee on medication pricing strategy as necessary.
Oversees the preparation of business plans and analysis related to physician recruitment and departures, as well as new Cancer Center locations and expansion of services.
Oversees financial modeling for changes managed care reimbursement rates and contract changes with payors, working closely with the NYULMC department of managed care.
Oversees the preparation of various budget analyses including financial key performance indicators and performance measurements utilizing volume statistics and decision support tools. Responds to financial analysis requests of senior management in a timely fashion and delegates responsibilities accordingly.
Oversees the management and preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets and all reporting surrounding such budget. Works with department managers in developing their budget objectives. Engages in revenue recognition activities including accurate and timely reporting of revenue cycle activities and reporting of account receivable balances.
In conjunction with supply chain management leadership, provides director level oversight of the Supply Chain department of the Cancer Center. This includes purchasing, receiving, storeroom inventory management, linen management, instrument sterilization, mailroom, regulated waste management, and transport/runner operations
Interacts with various Hospital and School of Medicine personnel regarding financial issues and analysis; including but not limited to budgeting, opportunity/risk analysis, volume analysis and financial forecasting.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting. Minimum of 7 years finance experience in accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis, preferably in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of recording/reporting of Revenue Cycle activities. Strong problem solving and analytical abilities as well as interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple priorities in a changing environment. Professional finance staff supervision experience. Meets commitments and responds timely to customer needs. Establish and consistently raise the standards for excellent customer service by example. Solicit customer feedback and promote service improvements.
Preferred Qualifications: CPA and/or MBA
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
