HealthTrust is looking for a transformational clinical leader to help drive clinical initiatives in an ever-changing healthcare environment. This role will provide leadership to the clinical operations team which is responsible for HealthTrust’s Clinical Advisory Boards. The Clinical Advisory Boards consist of clinical leaders from various healthcare systems and exist to ensure clinical input into the contract portfolio, perform product evaluations as necessary, and support the implementation of contracts within their health system. Clinical Boards exist in the areas of Nursing, Surgery, Radiology, Cardiology, Laboratory, and various specialty committees. This role will also act as a liaison between sourcing and physician advisory services to facilitate in depth reviews of clinical studies.
The Leader of Clinical Operations reports to the Senior Vice President of Strategic Sourcing. Direct reports include four Advisory Board Directors and an Advisory Board Coordinator.
Specific responsibilities of the position include the following:
Provide Leadership To The Clinical Operations Team
Develop and maintain standardized policies and procedures, ensure that the clinical operations team adheres to those policies and procedures.
Engage in discussions with existing and potential members to explain HealthTrust’s provider-driven contracting process and alignment with clinicians.
Assessing and researching scientific based evidence and providing guidance to membership around medical technologies.
Provide oversight of advisory board meetings, ensure process and budget are adhered to.
Create and manage mobile app called “HealthTrust Advisor” to reach out to non-advisory board members to solicit feedback and guidance relative to contracting and expansion categories.
Engage the Advisory Boards and Board Leads With Contracting Teams
Actively engage Advisory Board Members with the HealthTrust contracting teams to drive contracting strategies.
Provide active clinical support and interaction with contracting teams, global sourcing team, and other HealthTrust departments.
Provide education to the sourcing team regarding clinical categories, how they relate to one another and how they are utilized by member as well as any special clinical considerations.
Engage the Physician Advisory Services team
Partner with the HealthTrust CMO and Clinical Evidence team to identify appropriate categories for engagement, drive evidence review, and give feedback to the sourcing teams and advisory board members.
Engaging executives, physicians, and clinicians within the HealthTrust membership.
Working with Physician Advisory Services on a clinically integrated Supply Chain function through strategic value analysis.
The successful candidate is a thought leader with acute care facility experience and practice history as well as a strong history of team member participation and leadership. They will have demonstrated success in managing a comprehensive clinical program within a hospital, clinic or managed care organization with documented examples of successful clinical initiative implementation in a multi-facility environment. They will also have knowledge of Supply Chain processes and understanding of how clinical decisions impact the Supply Chain function.
A Bachelor of Science Degree in a clinical area, Master’s prepared Registered Nurse (critical care of leadership focus preferred).
