The Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor.

The Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI has seven academic departments with an extensive undergraduate and graduate degree portfolio, including numerous CAC, EAC, and ETAC of ABET accredited B.S. programs. The successful candidate is expected to develop and sustain an externally sponsored research program in nanotechnology, preferably related to medicine and energy, which are two research focus areas of the department and the Integrated Nanosystems Development Institute (INDI), (http://www.iupui.edu/~indi) an institute that was created to support nanotechnology research and education enterprises across the IUPUI campus. Candidates with research interest in the development of nanosystems (e.g. wearables, micro/nanofluidic devices, and/or drug delivery systems) for different applications (e.g. Medical, Energy, Environment, and/or Defense), are strongly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to synergistically collaborate with INDI affiliated faculty from several schools (including our top-ranked School of Medicine) to compete for external funding, conduct multidisciplinary research, and further the mission of the Institute.
He/she is also expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, as well as supervise graduate students (M.S. and Ph.D.).
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in mechanical or closely related engineering field and show promise for excellence in both research and teaching. Exceptional candidates with established research and teaching credentials may be considered for a senior faculty position.
