This position requires a highly professional individual possessing the technical / professional knowledge and skill levels that make him/her the preferred point of contact between our customer service team and our cellulose fiber manufacturing teams.
This position is responsible for scheduling and coordinating the efficient production and global distribution of GCF’s products in order to satisfy customer demand. This position works closely with customer service, manufacturing, sales and logistics (export & domestic) with a primary focus on extrapolating a master sales plan into a block schedule. This includes the trimming and sequencing of sales orders. Additional responsibilities include inventory coordination, mill outage planning and leading communications with the sales and operations teams on daily activities and issues that affect the supply chain. In addition to scheduling & trimming, this role will be responsible for identifying and leading specific supply chain initiatives and process improvements that contribute to the efficiency of the GCF business.
Understand the dependencies between Supply Planning, Order Management, Demand Planning, and Transportation/Warehousing processes in order to execute core responsibilities outlined above
Make decisions demonstrating a strong understanding of the balance between service and cost relationship; anticipate problems and effectively resolve them before they become major issues
Develop and maintain rough cut schedules through detailed scheduling, including the trimming and sequencing of assets to support the master plan and the manufacturing and service requirements
Possess clear and solid understanding of International Paper and the customer processes, including the downstream and upstream impact of decisions
Inventory coordination and management
Implement strategic inventory placement and plans for mill outages and execute drawdown plan
Work with customer service and operational units to understand and respond to customer requirements in a timely manner
Provide material plan to mills for procurement
"What if" analysis will be used to proactively resolve scheduling issues with input from stakeholders
Manage trimming efficiency and inventory to agree upon targets
Maintain a trimmed schedule with sufficient lead time to optimize the efficiency of the supply chain operations while avoiding unintended costs
Respond to requests of stakeholders, including especially the mills and customer service in order to meet the needs of customers
Work with supply chain planning, sales, production management, customer service and facilities to optimize the supply chain process
Identify and support the implementation of supply chain process improvements and savings initiatives with an emphasis on inventory efficiency, trim optimization and weight optimization
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, International Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field; or 8 years of Supply Chain experience
Working Knowledge of PC applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of basic supply chain concepts
Export/international business preferred
Supply chain experience strongly desired
