Essential Job Duties:
Teaching Support Specialists will manage one or more sections in the Lonnie Poole College of Management classes at NC State. Subject areas include but not limited to: accounting, operations/supply chain management, analytics, statistics and data security/privacy. Teaching Support Specialists will report directly to the professor who is the instructor of record or provide instruction.
Responsibilities will include grading, conducting synchronous discussion and review sessions, responding to students by email and phone, participating in online discussion boards, and managing the section Moodle site. The professor and Teaching Support Specialists will work closely to ensure consistency and quality of the course. Most of the work will be done during the evening and on weekends. Teaching Support Specialists will respond to student questions within 24 hours, or as determined by the professor.
Applicants must have deep subject matter expertise in the course being taught, as exhibited through an advanced degree, certification and/or business experience.
MBA or related business degree from an accredited institutions. Experience with online learning systems such as Moodle, Blackboard or Canvas. Teaching experience in a business school.
Industry experience in relevant subject area.
