Responsible for comprehensive upper-level supervision of staff and pharmaceutical services provided by inpatient pharmacy areas including all day, evening and night shifts, and both IV and unit dose areas. Responsible for all planning activities related to pharmacy technology, LEAN practices, and implementation of best practices. All services must comply with State and Federal regulations, Joint Commission standards, as well as University and Department policies, procedures and standards. Assist in overall Department planning and development of efficient and effective operational and clinical services. Plan, implement and monitor these programs in the areas. Will serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for the Central Pharmacy area and hospital. Plan and coordinate development for pharmacists and technicians to meet mandatory requirements, as well as patient needs. Also expected to provide leadership development for the inpatient pharmacy supervisors and inpatient technician supervisors and lead meetings in this area. Serve as Departmental liaison with the Patient Care Services Department. Participate on Departmental and interdisciplinary committees.REQUIRED- Valid California Pharmacist License or pending/required upon hire- Comprehensive knowledge of hospital pharmacy management and regulations.- Previous experience in supply chain management.- Previous leadership experience managing programs and initiatives within pharmacy- Previous departmental and personnel management experience.- Previous experience with automated dispensing systems.- Previous experience with EPIC or similar CPOE system.- Previous experience managing multiple projects and duties simultaneously while meeting deadlines. - Excellent communication and people skills.PREFERRED- Master's degree in Business or Health Care Administration- Crucial conversation skills- LEAN/Six Sigma experience/certifications- Leadership certifications/skills- Previous Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) experience.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
