Job Profile Summary Administration of federal and private student loan processing while maintaining university and federal compliance on policies, procedures, and regulations.
Time: Full time
Process and track Alternative Loan Certifications and Disbursements for GPS student populations.
Download, review, and process ELM cash transactions.
Oversee and process PLUS Loan/Alternative Loan approvals and denials.
Review and process traditional undergraduate Loan Adjustment form requests, as needed.
Oversee and process Student Loan Entrance/Exit Interviews completed online by students.
Schedule and conduct optional traditional undergraduate in-person loan exit counseling group sessions bi-annually for graduates, as needed.
Coordinate efforts for follow-up related to entering repayment and avoiding default.
Assist the Associate Director of Financial Aid with the Perkins Loan Program repayment and closeout.
Assist the Associate Director of Financial Aid with regular audit and quality review of loan awards and disbursements.
Act as traditional undergraduate student loan information resource for GPS SFS Advisors.
Support Financial Aid Officer- Reconciliation and Systems Processing, as needed.
Assist the Senior Financial Aid Officer to gather and analyze student loan data for department reports and audits.
Research and prepare Cohort Default Rate appeal (eCDR) annually.
Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with all PacWest Conference and NCAA rules and regulations as they pertain to student-athlete athletic financial aid and entitlements and is responsible for ensuring that Student Financial Services is compliant with all rules and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Knowledge of federal financial aid loan programs and ELM resources highly desired. Experience with adult and non-traditional student populations preferred.
Strong computer data entry skills (speed and accuracy.)
Detail oriented and task focused.
Public speaking experience desirable.
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment in problem solving.
Ability to exercise important interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, parents, co-workers, and other PLNU personnel.
Understanding of and commitment to the spiritual mission of the University.
The work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Vision to read documents, e-mail and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor. Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone. Will also stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 10 lbs throughout the day.
