This position will be located at our facility in Redmond, WA.
In this role, you will assist in the development and production of monopropellant and bipropellant rocket engines. You will work closely with our customers and meet their needs by leading the engineering aspects of planning, design, analyses, development, qualification, and production of chemical propulsion thrusters. The individual will work closely with Program Office personnel to meet Aerojet Rocketdyne's business goals. Typical duties:
Provides leadership in support of program tasks and hardware technology development test efforts. Among the duties will be customer presentations and submittals, as well as coordinating activities with internal organizations such as Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Test.
Lead engineering support for the production of high-performance monopropellant and/or bipropellant rocket engines. This includes requirements management, anomaly resolution, and anomaly prevention.
Plan, conduct, and analyze data from engine hot fire tests.
Support component development and qualification, including supplier oversight and management.
Provide hardware fabrication support, including nonconformance resolution.
Conduct performance, fluid dynamics and other engineering analysis as required in support of trade studies and programs.
Support proposal activities and manage internal research and development efforts, as necessary.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Experience with monopropellant, bipropellant, rocket propulsion systems and/or rocket engine technology development is desired.
Experience working an equivalent engineering environment is desired.
