Directs and conducts all activities associated with the product roadmap and product lifecycle management for Vizient’s Supply Chain product portfolio. Areas covered include analytics and technologies such as supply chain and purchased services analytics, pharmacy analytics, contracting technology and internal technologies. Supports the implementation of Agile development methodologies at every step of the product ideation and development process.
Identifies, and evaluates business intelligence and other technology needs of healthcare providers to ensure that products continue to solve relevant problems and retain a competitive edge.
Owns Product Management leadership and strategy for the Vizient Savings Actualyzer suite (Supplies, Capital, Purchased Services, Pharmacy), Vizient Contract Catalog, Intellisource, and support for key internal technology development products that impact the provisioning of our external products.
Coordinates product management processes and investment decisions with leaders of other Product Management and Solutions Strategy verticals on a regular basis as part of a coordinated approach.
Engages with a variety of key leadership within the sourcing and collaboration business segments to understand goals, assess technology needs, and triage potential opportunities for further elaboration by the product management staff.
Interfaces with customers, partners, internal stakeholders and prospects to further define product direction and to manage through alpha, beta and other product releases, including member committee facilitation and oversight. Guides team in early and frequent member engagement.
Prioritizes product development schedules to maximize customer experience and revenue commitments; develops financial business case and ROI analyses for product enhancement and new development initiatives.
Coordinates technical product development and product delivery resources to establish and manage the overall release process from requirements planning to customer deployment to ongoing product maintenance.
Works with sales and marketing to help convey product vision and value proposition, and that sales support resources are prepared to convey this same message effectively.
Conducts ongoing internal product portfolio assessments to identify weaknesses and capability gaps and evaluates competitors, partnership opportunities and acquisition targets as appropriate.
Acts as a product advocate and champion and proactively/regularly communicate product roadmap and development schedules, to all relevant internal stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Advanced degree in business administration, software engineering or another technical field strongly desired.
12 years minimum work experience in product management or product development related roles, with a preference for experience in development, selling and marketing of provider-focused healthcare technologies and/or supply chain analytics.
Demonstrated experience in implementing Agile development methodologies in organizations with limited prior knowledge and experience with those approaches.
Strong business orientation, strategic and analytical capabilities—comfortable with development and oversight of financial analyses, pricing models, and product prioritization efforts.
Knowledge of the range of potential market research techniques used during product requirements development and ongoing evaluation, and the ability to support teams in identifying the appropriate ways to capture timely voice of customer research in a cost-efficient way.
Significant experience in driving a strategic change agenda through influence vs. authority.
Ability to travel to domestic locations for 20-30% of working time.
Experience working in a healthcare provider environment s a plus.
Experience with Pragmatic Marketing framework is desired.
